Today, students enjoyed celebrating World Book Day. A range of activities ensured there was something for everyone to get involved with. Year 11 were surprised and bewildered when English teachers greeted them as characters from ‘An Inspector Calls’ (a play they are studying for their Literature GCSE); stage directions, quotations and character traits were all promoted to further aid Year 11 revision. In KS3, students who qualified for the football tournament, by reading vast amounts of extra words, enjoyed taking part in the football. KS3 students also had a ‘reading goal’ English lesson. In the library, students completing reading quizzes, whilst others gave up their morning break to read with primary students who visited our library. We had a great day!
