WHY CHOOSE US?

Christ’s College provides unique and exceptional opportunities for all pupils, raising their aspirations, encouraging their talents, supporting their ambitions and developing their confidence.

We believe that this is the dream of every parent, the desire of every community and the right of all young people, regardless of their ability or background. We therefore value the opportunity to work closely with parents towards a united goal of supporting students to achieve their “Personal Best.”

Because the school is small (we have three classes in each year group in years 7-11, and two in each year group in years R-6), all our pupils are known by staff and pastoral care is strong. The school has a strong family feel, where all pupils feel valued and understood. Students look out for one another and support one another. Staff and pupils are proud of their school and appreciate the strong community feel. As an all-through school, there are many opportunities for older students to be role models for younger children, and we have a strong student leadership programme which operates through our house structure.

We are a school with a distinctive Christian Ethos, but our community is made up of students, staff and parents who hold many different religious and ideological positions and unite around our core virtues. Our school is a school where everyone is welcome. The Christian gospel is a message of hope, redemption and transformation; this makes a tangible difference to how we see ourselves and how we live. Each week, we hold assemblies for primary children and also secondary students, and all secondary students contribute to the assembly programme by leading an assembly thought, as a tutor group, once per year. In our assemblies, we look at how Christian principles are relevant to all students, whatever their background, and we take every opportunity to celebrate the successes and character growth journey of individual children.

Christ’s College is a rapidly expanding school, which is committed to providing the best possible education for all children in significantly improving facilities. We strive to live out the mission of excellence in Character, Curriculum and Community, so that children leave the school as well-rounded adults who are reflective and resilient, and who strive to contribute positively to the communities in which they will serve, live and work.

There is something quite special about our unique school, from the quirky buildings through to the strong sense of community. Visitors and inspectors comment on the school’s strong culture, and we welcome visitors to come and see for themselves and experience something of the Christ’s College community for themselves.
